Synopsis.
The architect’s project representative can use G711™-2018 standard form to maintain a concise record of periodic site visits or, in the case of a full-time project representative, a daily log of construction activities. Observations, including known deviations from the Contract Documents and from the most recent construction schedule submitted by the Contractor, as well as defects and deficiencies observed in the Work, align with the Architect’s reporting obligations to the Owner specified in the B101™-2017 Owner-Architect Agreement. Pursuant to that Agreement, the Architect is not required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of the Work. For all document details and a record of changes, see the summary »
Completing G711–2018.
The Architect initiates and prepares the form and shares it or its details with the Owner, as necessary, to keep the Owner reasonably informed about the progress and quality of the portion of the Work completed. Unless otherwise noted in the Owner-Architect Agreement, the Architect is not required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of the Work.
In the blank after “Contract For:” insert the name of the contract for construction. Alternatively, the words “General Construction” may be inserted if the Contractor is a single prime (or general) Contractor; however, if the Contractor is one of several prime Contractors, the Work performed by that Contractor should be identified.
“Present at Site” may include types and quantities of trades, as well as visitors.
“Observations” may be used, among other things, to record deliveries to the site. Observations should mirror reporting requirements agreed to in the Owner-Architect Agreement, such as known deviations from the Contract Documents and the Contractor’s most recent construction schedule, as well as defects and deficiencies observed in the Work.
“Action Required.” This field now absorbs data that would have been recorded with Items to Verify and Information Required to avoid overlap with those fields.
“Attachments” may include photos of the Project. Separate sheets that are attached should be clearly labeled and dated.
“Signature.” The Architect of Record is not required to sign the Report. However, the individual who conducted the site visit and completed the Field Report must sign.
