Completing Payment Applications in Catina

Summary

With Catina, The G702 Payment for Application Cover sheet and The G703 Continuation sheet’s preparation is integrated into a single editing experience. Check out the steps below to create a payment application within the Catina application, create additional pay apps, and frequently asked questions. 

 

Creating a Payment Application in Catina

1. Open up the standard template screen from either within a project, the documents tab, or the new button. 

2. Select the G702-1992 and click configure

3. This will open up the Configure Document screen allowing you to name your document, select or create a project, date, and add your project team if applicable. 

4. Once the basic information is complete, you can decide if you want to include the related document, which in this case would be the G703 Continuation sheet. The online service will automatically toggle this to yes, but you can adjust as needed. 

5. You also have the option to pull from previous Pay Applications to auto populate data to save time when completing a new payment application. 

6. Finally you can choose your retention setting, and you are ready to create your document

7. On the left you will see your document status bar that monitors where your document is in the lifecycle process. You can easily toggle between these steps at any time, allowing flexibly when completing your document. 

8. Enter line items will guide you to entering in your line items within the online document editor. There is built-in logic and calculations to reduce errors and make the completion process more efficient

9. You can right click directly in the document to open up the context menu with additional editing options.

10. Along the top you will find your toolbar with a few helpful features. You can add multiple rows at a time and you will find your bulk actions, which provides you the ability to import from and export to Excel to easy import data from previous versions or documents. 

11. The document editor is where you can edit the information pertaining to the G702 Payment for Application. Within Catina, your project details and line item data will automatically populate into your payment application, saving you time and reducing the chance of error. Once you enter the retainage and any necessary change order information, the related fill points will automatically calculate for you. 

12. The blue text boxes are editable by simply clicking within the highlight area to make any changes. Just note, all changes to the text will be shown in full mark-up in the final document. 

13. Along the top you will find your document tool bar with some helpful options like editing your document properties, previewing your final document, and a resources button that provides helpful articles, document instructions, and any contextualized support you might need while editing your document.

Creating another Payment Application within a Project: 

To create the next payment application within a project: 

1. Navigate to the project and click New Document OR click the new button and select AIA Document

2. Select the G702-1992 and click configure. 

3. This will open up the Configure Document screen allowing you to name your document, select or create a project, date, and add your project team if applicable. 

4. Where it says "Start from previous pay app" click yes and select the last payment application from the list. 

5. Follow the steps above to complete your payment application. 

 

FAQS

Can you export line items from excel? 

Yes - Yes - you can important line items using excel within the line item editor tab. To do so click bulk actions, then export excel file. You can then edit the line items using excel, share, or email as needed. 

Can you import line items from excel?

Yes - you can import line items using excel template within the line item editor tab. To do so click bulk actions, then import excel file. To access this template, click Download Template from the Upload Excel File screen. 

How do I add a schedule of value under pay app?

Creating a payment application within Catina is now an integrated process, allowing you to create both your G702-1992 and G703-1992 at the same time. To do so, please select yes under "Include Related Document" on the configure screen.
