Migrating a Project from ACD5 to Catina

Summary

Projects can now be migrated from ACD5 to Catina, bringing over details, folders, and files, except for drafts. Draft documents should be finalized in ACD5 or imported as templates before migration. Customers can select one or multiple projects to migrate, with updates appearing in real-time on the “My Projects” page. For detailed steps and FAQs, refer to the guide.

Syncing and Resyncing

  • Syncing Process:
The syncing process runs hourly to check for new data in ACD5 and migrate it to Catina automatically.
  • Resync Option:
Resyncing allows you to bring over new objects without overwriting existing data. For example, if a user adds a new PDF to an ACD5 project, the resync process will migrate the new file to Catina while preserving all previously migrated data.

Upcoming features include:

  • Ability to migrate draft documents
  • Ability to create and manage folders in Catina
  • Ability to move files in Catina
  • Search/filtering

CUSTOMER FAQs:

Q: Where do I find my list of ACD5 projects to migrate?

A: The list of ACD5 projects can be found in Catina under the “Projects” menu option (left-hand navigation menu) on the “Migrated Projects” page.

Q: Where can I find my Finalized Documents after migrating a project?

Once you migrate a project from ACD5, all final PDF documents will be stored under Project Files. To access click the project and select Project Files.

Q: How do I migrate projects once I’ve found my list of projects?

A: Under the Status column, select “Migrate” on the ACD5 projects that you’d like to move over to Catina. Once the project has migrated, it will no longer be visible on the “Migrated Projects” page and will instead be available from the “My Projects” page.

Q: Can I select more than one project at a time?

A: Yes, you can select one or multiple projects to migrate at once.

Q: Once I click “Migrate” how long will it take projects to migrate?

A: Projects are migrated in real-time. In most cases, projects will appear almost instantly on the “My Projects” page. In rare cases, projects could take 1-2 minutes to appear.

Q: What’s the difference between the Migrated Documents list and the Migrated Projects list? Are my files in both places?

A: The “Migrated Documents” page is effectively an archive of all of your finalized and completed documents from ACD5. The “Migrated Projects” list displays the names of all of your ACD5 projects and will contain the same finalized and completed documents, along with your folders and any additional non-draft files that are saved in your projects. When migrating projects, there is no impact to your “Migrated Documents” archive.

Q: Why aren’t draft documents automatically migrated along with projects?

A: The ability to migrate draft documents is coming soon. As soon as the capability is available, draft documents will be included in any projects that are migrated, and any drafts associated with projects previously migrated will automatically move to Catina.

Q: What if use my draft documents as templates and/or I need the drafts in Catina immediately?

A: If you require a draft to be moved to Catina, draft documents should be imported into ACD5 as a custom template and then migrated to Catina. Once the document has been imported, it will show up on the “Migrated Templates” page in Catina and be available to migrate.

Q: Will archived ACD5 projects be available to migrate?

A: Yes, archived projects can be migrated.

Q: What happens if I make changes to my projects in ACD5?

A: The migration process will account for changes to ACD5 projects and will be re-synced every hour to ensure the list in Catina accurately reflects the state of the projects in ACD5.

Q: What happens if I rename my project in Catina after it’s migrated?

A: There are no issues related to renaming projects or files once they’re migrated to Catina.
