Synopsis.
AIA Document G841™–2024, Request for Authorization to Proceed with Additional Services for a Design-Build Project is intended to be used by a design-builder or architect when requesting approval from the owner design-builder for performing additional services pursuant to the AIA’s design-build agreements, such as AIA Document A141®-2024 and B141™–2024. AIA Document G841™–2024 is intended to be used by the Architect to request authorization from the Design-Builder to perform Additional Services when using AIA Design-Builder-Architect agreements.
Changes from G801-2017.
This Request for Authorization to Proceed with Additional Services for a Design-Build Project form is based on G801™ -2017, Notice of Additional Services. G841-2024 adapts the G801-2017 to be applicable on Design-Build projects. G841-2024 removes the option to select “Additional Services to Avoid Delay in Construction” as that scenario is not present in the Design-Build Documents. A141-2024 and B141-2024 both require written authorization prior to performing Additional Services.
