Synopsis.
AIA Contract Document C304–2024 is a form inviting consultants to submit the AIA Contract Document C305™–2024, Consultant’s Qualification Statement. Requesters may use C304-2024 to provide initial project information in support of their request for the C305 form. The C304 allows requesters to provide general information about the project, the intended form of agreement, project delivery method, submission requirements, and the consultant selection process.

When to Use / Purpose.
The C304-2024 may be used by a requester who would like to:
provide a more formal approach to receiving and evaluating consultant qualifications; and
receive C305-2024 responses that are closely aligned with the requester’s project.
Instructions. Completing C304-2024.
Article 1
§ 1.1 Requester. The Requester is the person preparing and inviting consultants to submit the C305™–2024, Consultant’s Qualification Statement. The Requester should be identified by its full address and legal name, including a designation of the legal status (sole proprietorship, partnership, joint venture, unincorporated association, limited partnership, or corporation [general, limited liability, closed or professional], etc.). Other information may be added, such as telephone numbers and electronic addresses.
§ 1.2 Owner. If different than the Requester, the Owner of the Project should be identified by its full address and legal name, including a designation of the legal status (sole proprietorship, partnership, joint venture, unincorporated association, limited partnership, or corporation [general, limited liability, closed or professional], etc.). Other information may be added, such as telephone numbers and electronic addresses.
§ 1.3 Project Type and Scope. Describe the Project in terms of building use, location, scope, project objectives, budget, and schedule, or reference any applicable exhibit(s).
§ 1.4 Agreement and Project Delivery Method. Insert the form of agreement by AIA document number and name or attach the intended form of agreement as an exhibit.
§ 1.5 Project Participants. List known Project participants such as the architects, consultants, contractors, owner’s representative, or program manager and any restrictions regarding contact during the request for qualifications process.
§ 1.6.1 Inquiries and Clarifications. Insert requirements for submitting inquiries such as name, title, and email address of the recipient.
§ 1.9 Selection Process. Identify the process and schedule for consultant selection after the C305-2024 is submitted.
Article 3
§ 3.1 Additional Information and Requirements. List attachments pertaining to the request for qualifications and stipulate page limits and other requirements related to the C305-2024 submittal.
Notes.
Use of Non-AIA Forms. If a combination of AIA contract documents and non-AIA contract documents is to be used, particular care must be taken to achieve consistency of language and intent among documents.
