Instructions: G742S™–2015, Application and Certificate for Payment for a Design-Build Project, Subcontractor Variation

Synopsis.

AIA Document G742S–2015 modifies G742™–2015 for use by subcontractors submitting an application to a contractor on a Design-Build project. Modifications to G742–2015 are shown as tracked changes revisions—that is, additional material is underlined; deleted material is crossed out. For all document details and a record of changes, see the summary »

Completing G742S–2015.

After the Design-Builder has completed AIA Document G743, Continuation Sheet, summary information should be transferred to G742, Application and Certificate for Payment.

The Design-Builder should sign G742, have it notarized, and submit it, together with G743, to the Owner.

The Owner should review G742 and G743 and, if they are acceptable, complete the Certificate for Payment on G742.

The Owner may certify a different amount than that applied for, pursuant to Sections 9.5 and 9.6 of AIA Document A141-2014. The Owner should then initial all figures on G742 and G743 that have been changed to conform to the amount certified and attach an explanation.

Making payment

The Owner should make payment directly to the Design-Builder based on the amount certified on AIA Document G742, Application and Certificate for Payment for a Design-Build Project. The completed form contains the name and address of the Design-Builder. Payment should not be made to any other party unless specifically indicated on G742.

Executing the document.

Persons executing AIA Document G742–2015 should indicate the capacity in which they are acting (i.e., president, secretary, partner, etc.) and the authority under which they are executing the document. Where appropriate, a copy of the resolution authorizing the individual to act on behalf of the firm or entity should be attached.
