Synopsis.
The project checklist is a convenient listing of tasks a practitioner may perform on a given project. This checklist will assist the architect in recognizing required tasks and in locating the data necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities. By providing space for notes on actions taken, assignment of tasks, and time frames for completion, AIA Document D200–1995 may also serve as a permanent record of the owner’s, contractor’s and architect’s actions and decisions.
Purpose.
The Project Checklist is a project management tool (see The Architect’s Handbook of Professional Practice). Some items may be inapplicable to a particular project, owner or architectural firm. Conversely, additional items may be required for a particular project, owner or firm.
This list assumes the use of standard AIA documents and MASTER SPEC. If the project requirements preclude use of AIA documents or MASTER SPEC, the Checklist may require some alteration in terminology.
Notes.
Modifications. Particularly with respect to professional or contractor licensing laws, building codes, taxes, monetary and interest charges, arbitration, indemnification, format and font size, AIA Contract Documents may require modification to comply with state or local laws. Users are encouraged to consult an attorney before completing or modifying a document.
