AIA Document G732–2019 serves the same purpose as AIA Document G702™–1992. The standard form AIA Document G703™–1992, Continuation Sheet, is appropriate for use with G732–2019.

AIA Document G732–2019, Application and Certificate for Payment, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition, is to be used in conjunction with AIA Document G703–1992, Continuation Sheet. These documents are designed to be used on a Project where a Construction Manager is employed as an adviser to the Owner, but not as a constructor. Procedures for their use are covered in AIA Document A232™–2019, General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition.

Changes from the previous edition.

The Note in the Architect’s Certification section has been changed to delete the term “Multiple Prime Contractors,” which is no longer used in the 2019 versions of the Construction Manager as Adviser documents. The note now uses “multiple Contractors.”


Dispute Resolution—Mediation and Arbitration.

This document contains provisions for mediation and arbitration of claims and disputes. Mediation is a non-binding process, but is mandatory under the terms of this agreement. Arbitration may be mandatory under the terms of this agreement. Arbitration is binding in most states and under the Federal Arbitration Act. In a minority of states, arbitration provisions relating to future disputes are not enforceable but the parties may agree to arbitrate after the dispute arises. Even in those states, under certain circumstances (for example, in a transaction involving interstate commerce), arbitration provisions may be enforceable under the Federal Arbitration Act.
